
Library and Computer
Lab
Within the short period of five years since its
inception the University has set up a working reference library with 12000
volumes. There are more than 9000 books covering 44 law subjects. It has
received a large number of books and journals from the personal library of late
Prof. T.V.S. Satyamurthy. A further donation of important journals is going to
be available from the library of High Court of Madhya Pradesh very soon.
The library has online subscription of
www.lexusnexus.com, www.manupatra.com and www.scconline.com. GrandJurix (CD-ROM) is also available
for the students. The library has leading national and international journals
ranging from Harvard Law Review, Australian Journal Law Society, Cambridge Law
Journal, Columbia Law Review, European Intellectual Property Law Review, George
Washington Journal of International Law and Economics, International Review of
Criminal Policy, Journal of International Banking Law, Journal of Legal
Education, Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, Monash University Law Review,
University of Baltimore Intellectual Property Law Journal, Journal of Dispute
Resolution, International Trade and Business Law Annual, Wisconsin Law Review,
Cardozo Law Review, Columbia Journal of Environmental law, Cardozo Law Review,
Cochin University Law Review, Annual Survey of Indian Law Institute, Journal of
Indian Law Institute, among many others.

The library also consists of
Halsbury Laws of England and India, Great Books which comprises of all classic novels by
great
authors, American Jurisprudence, American Jurisprudence of Proof of Facts as
well as Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents.
Ms. Sujata Manohar, Judge
Supreme Court of India has made a very generous contribution to the library
resources by donating a complete set of Halsbury's 3rd Edition, which contains
much of the English Common Law, which is now replaced by statute
law.
The library is open throughout the week but
closes every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. The new library with ultra-modern facilities
and centrally air-conditioned is under construction and would be soon
functional. The UGC team that visited the University in September 2004, gave
best commendation to the collection and organization of the collection in the
library.

Computer Lab:
There are over forty IBM computers in the
computer lab. Internet connection is available on the computers and is accessed
by students regularly. All kinds of facilities are available in the computer lab
for the students including offline and online work, printing, scanning etc. The
computer courses designed for the students enable them to be proficient in
computer languages as well Internet surfing and essential computer usage. The
new state-of-the-art computer lab is under construction and would be functional
in the near future.
Internet Facilities :
The NLIU Internet center has high-speed
connectivity for research and browsing. The current computer lab, which is to be
shifted into the Gyan Mandir will house over hundred computers, accessible to
the students twenty-four hours. The library, administrative block and the
academic block are connected via the Internet. The university is at present
contemplating providing Internet access to students in their rooms. |
